MTX Audio

Inventing the first mobile audio enclosure

MTX Audio is an American consumer audio company. They manufacture audio equipment for applications including car audio, home audio, marine audio and live sound products. They are best known for their car audio products and they specialize in subwoofers and amplifiers

MiTek Corporation USA was founded in 1979 by Loyd Ivey and is one of the largest privately held companies in the USA. Their dream is to be a modern specialist distributor. They understand that today's vehicles are more complex than ever, and that it is increasingly difficult for dealers to stay on top of trends and to maintain the right products for a variety of unique, vehicle-specific installations.

MTX History - 1971 and still rockin' hard

From the simple beginnings of building speakers from a rural garage over 40 years ago, to becoming one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of high performance car, marine, atv/utv, personal and home audio products. MTX Audio has maintained the vision, leadership, and dedication of Founder and CEO Loyd Ivey under the Mitek Corporation name.

1979 Ushered in the MiTek acquisition of Matrecs, a manufacturer of mobile audio products which became known as MTX Audio in 1983. As the founding company under the MiTek umbrella, MTX Audio offers the broadest selection of consumer products in the MiTek family.

MTX are most famously known for their subwoofers, they were often the star of the show Pimp My Ride, and have been the heart of many of the award-winning show cars produced by MTX and their dealers.

With amps that are hand-made in Korea using audiophile grade ELNA capacitors, and subwoofers that use American Copper, MTX is an excellent choice, whether it be upgrading your factory stereo, or building a first in class show car.
